Frequently asked questions

Is this a medical compression sock?

No. The Holistic Health Sock is not classified as a medical compression device. It uses what we call holistic grade compression, designed to support circulation gently rather than apply the rigid graduated pressure of medical-class compression hosiery. If your doctor has prescribed Class 1, 2, or 3 medical compression, please follow their advice. Many of our customers find the Holistic Health Sock more comfortable than the standard medical compression they were given, but it is not a medical-device replacement.

Are these safe to wear with diabetes?

Yes. The compression is graduated and breathable, not the rigid pressure that can be unsafe for diabetic patients with peripheral neuropathy. We recommend a chat with your doctor or diabetic nurse before wearing any new sock for the first time.

Will they help with swelling?

The Open Toe variant is specifically designed for severe swelling. Many customers tell us they wear them all day to manage oedema, including from heart-failure-related fluid retention. Talk to your doctor first if your swelling is medically managed.

Can I sleep in them?

Yes. The fabric is soft enough for overnight wear. Customers tell us they wake with less aching.

Can I wear them on a long flight?

Yes. The Closed Toe in particular is comfortable for long-haul journeys.

What sizes do they come in?

Size M fits UK shoe sizes 5-8 (EU 38-42). Size L fits UK shoe sizes 9-12 (EU 42-45). If you are between sizes, choose Size L.

How do I wash them?

Cool machine wash, do not tumble dry. Bamboo is naturally antibacterial.
